I am straying away from my nature-bird zen to use my voice on something that I feel is a real problem. Below is a Facebook post I just made and I hope people take the time to actually read it and think about it.
I know this sounds incredibly extreme, but that is why it is so frightening. The desensitization this administration is creating can be detrimental to our view of reality.
Hey all, its me again and I’m still worried and sad about the state of the world. I’m posting this as something for y’all to think about, talk about (not argue), and really consider.
This photo is from the US Holocaust Museum.
I will go point by point with examples, not opinions, of why this is accurate in his own words, through White House documents, and news sources. Again, this is not a democrat versus republican argument, this is a straight argument against the presidency of Donald Trump.
- Powerful and continuing nationalism
“The future doesn’t belong to globalists, the future belongs to patriots.” https://youtu.be/7wJ8tdxDVgl
- Disdain for human rights
Caging immigrants at southern border, Muslim travel ban, rescinding Title IX guidance to protect transgender students, repeal of Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces executive order, overturn of Title X Family Planning Program for preventative care for low-income and young people https://civilrights.org/trump-rollback
- Identification of enemies as a unifying cause
I think the biggest example of this is Trump’s constant cries of “fake news”. He discredits the media, even Fox News now, creating confusion and division of facts, opinions, and any information. https://youtu.be/Vqpzk-qGxMU
- Supremacy of the military
“President Trump is signing the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2020, authorizing a historic $738 billion in defense spending.” A document from the White House: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/president-donald-j-trump-fulfilling-promise-rebuild-nations-military-support-troops/
- Rampant sexism
“I moved in on her like a bitch.” “I just start kissing them. When you’re a star, you can do anything. Grab her by the pussy.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcZcTnykYbw
- Controlled mass media
In this case, this goes hand in hand with number three above. Controlling messaging – either through Twitter, White House documents, skewed press conferences – creates confusion, division, and groups of people running rampant on seeking anything for their confirmation bias.
- Obsession with national security
“Build that wall!” https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2020/01/14/trump-planning-to-use-billions-more-in-military-funds-to-build-border-wall-per-report/
- Religion and government intertwined
Below is a general, overarching example, but first, the Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and the White House’s words on the order below as it pertains to education: “the Department’s proposed rule seeks to implement President Trump’s Executive Order 13831, Executive Order on the Establishment of a White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative. The proposed rule would ensure that religious and non-religious organizations are treated equally by the federal government and that organizations are not discriminated against simply because they are religious in nature, removing unequal, burdensome regulatory requirements imposed by the Obama administration.” https://www.ed.gov/news/press-releases/us-secretary-education-betsy-devos-announces-proposed-rule-regarding-equal-treatment-faith-based-education-institutions-provides-updated-school-prayer-guidance
Executive Order on the Establishment of a White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative
- Corporate power protected
“For the first time in American history, the 400 wealthiest people paid a lower tax rate than any other group, according to a new study by economists Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman at the University of California, Berkeley.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/camilomaldonado/2019/10/10/trump-tax-cuts-helped-billionaires-pay-less-taxes-than-the-working-class-in-2018/#678c0b183128
- Labor power suppressed
The above is also an example, but…
“In addition to passing a massive tax cut for wealthy business owners, Trump and Republicans in Congress have rolled back important worker protections, advanced nominees to key administration posts who have a history of exploiting working people, and taken other actions that further rig the system in favor of corporate interests and the wealthiest Americans.” There is a list of ten examples in this article: https://www.epi.org/publication/ten-actions-that-hurt-workers-during-trumps-first-year/
- Disdain for intellectuals and the arts
“This is the fourth year in a row the White House has called for slashing funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which provides funding to public TV stations, PBS and NPR. The White House budget also eliminates funding for the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities, two agencies that also have been targets in recent years yet have survived.” A good example of checks and balances in action, but that is a pretty consistent agenda. https://deadline.com/2020/02/donald-trump-public-media-pbs-npr-1202856498/
- Obsession with crime and punishment
In his own words: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1V46JPtj31s
The self-proclaimed president of law and order has mobilized federal resource officers to break up “angry mobs, professional anarchists, arsonists, antifas”. Yes, because they are ANTI-FASCIST. He says he is an ally of peaceful protests, but the people on the ground protesting at these cities are saying the federal officers are inciting and escalating the situation.
- Rampant cronyism and corruption
We all know there are many (, but this is from a document from the White House
“President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Grant of Clemency commuting the unjust sentence of Roger Stone, Jr.
Roger Stone is a victim of the Russia Hoax that the Left and its allies in the media perpetuated for years in an attempt to undermine the Trump Presidency. There was never any collusion between the Trump Campaign, or the Trump Administration, with Russia. Such collusion was never anything other than a fantasy of partisans unable to accept the result of the 2016 election.”
- Fraudulent elections
Oh yeah, there was an investigation about that. The investigation shows there was interference, hacking of emails, and using social media to mobilize United States citizens. A PDF of the full report can be found here: https://games-cdn.washingtonpost.com/notes/prod/default/documents/f5fe536c-81bb-45be-86e5-a9fee9794664/note/a8d336ef-e98d-4a08-987d-b4c154b22700.pdf

If you have gotten down here and read this far, I want to say just a little more while I have your attention. I am really at a loss as to how to solve this problem and I am recognizing this really is a problem that people need to realize on their own. The only way I can think of to do that is with actual information, that is credible, seen unbiasedly, and for what it really is.
It took me hours to research and put together this document, but I think that it will be helpful for some in their search for what is going on in our country – which I love, by the way. Please share.
